The hydrogen fuel cell catamaran project we pioneered in Türkiye in 2009 was ahead of its time. It stayed on the shelf as a pure R&D attempt, but it widened our horizon. It was the start of our hydrogen journey, and that project was our first spark.

- It is everywhere in the universe, but purifying it is expensive.
- Grey hydrogen pollutes, blue is a partial solution, green is ideal but very expensive.
- Efficiency is 30-50%, far behind batteries.
- Storage and transport are difficult, and safety is sensitive.
Where does it make sense? Heavy-duty vehicles, public transport and aviation.
Where does it not? Passenger cars and areas where electrification is easy to apply.
For me, hydrogen is a journey that started with that R&D project in 2009 and is still going. It is a critical but selective part of the global energy transition.
